IT’S OVER

I never knew how much I loved you

Until we had to part.

You, so dark and magical,

An otherworldly MacGyver,

Bubbling through tunnels,

Captured and crushed behind mesh,

Imprisoned in spacepods,

Always escaping,

Mingling,

Shapeshifting.

Taken for granted.

Abused.

Defiled.

Revered.

Vilified.

I had you

At my beck and call,

Oh!

How I tingled with anticipation

For the taste of you on my lips,

For that jolt of electricity

Available

On repeat.

Now you are lost to me

And I miss you,

Oh, my beloved coffee.

All that remains of you is…

My glass of water.
