BY MYSELF

People find it rather strange

I come all by myself to Spain

But I quite like the solitude

The quiet time without my dude!

It’s not that there is something wrong,

No, not at all, our love is strong.

I’ve always taken time away,

Little “by myself” holidays.

I find it nice to be alone,

To play my music, sing country songs.

I’ll do crochet, read lots of books,

Work on my novel, won’t bother cook.

The beach is near, I’ll go and walk

Along the shore with my own thoughts.

And if it’s nice and if I’m brave

I might go in jump over waves.

I have friends here, I see them too,

We meet for coffee, Cava too!

And so you see, I’m quite happy,

In Spain alone, never lonely.
